What we do
Each of these has its own page, because a skin fade and a beard trim are different questions and deserve a real answer rather than one line on a menu.
The short version
A fade is about the blend, not the length — where the clipper steps down and how cleanly the hair disappears into skin. Low, mid and high describe where that starts, not how short it ends up.
An edge up is the line across the forehead and down the temples. It can be moved back and it cannot be moved forward, which is the whole reason it's worth not rushing.
Beard work lives or dies on the neckline. Set too high it looks shaved on, too low and there's no line at all. Shape first, then length.
How long to leave it
A skin fade looks its best for about two weeks and still holds at three. A taper keeps a little length at the bottom and grows out softer, so it's the better call if you can't get back in for a month. Say which you're after when you sit down and it changes what gets cut.
